The value of the Turkish medical device market exceeded US$ 1.92 billion in 2020. The market is expected to grow by 7.7% per year on TL basis between 2021-2024.

Health campus projects will meet the growing demand in the industry over the next few years.

With the number of tourists reaching almost 662,000 in 2019 in the growing health tourism sector, the demand for medical devices is also expected to increase. The Ministry of Health predicts that this number will reach 1.5 million by 2023.

In 2020, the Turkish pharmaceutical industry grew by 17.6% and reached 47.9 billion TL. Unit sales in the same period were 2.2 billion.

Around 500 companies operate in the sector.

As of January 2021, there are 83 pharmaceutical and 11 raw material production facilities that can meet the highest international standards. Of these 94 production facilities, 23 are owned by multinational companies.
