Agriculture – Livestock

Turkey holds an important position in world trade in the agriculture and livestock sector as -both- an “importer” and an “exporter”. It imports various products such as barley, wheat, corn, rice, tea, soybeans and dry beans, also exports vegetables-fruit-based products namely, lentils, hazelnuts, grapes, tomatoes, apricots, lemons, figs, eggs, lentils, oranges, tangerines, cherries, olives, cotton, peppers.

Turkey is a very important customer for livestock as well.

33% of livestock imports are made from Uruguay, 27% from Brazil and 11% from Czechia. Of the breeding cattle imports, 32% of import was made from Germany, whereas 18% from Austria, and 14%  from Czechia (2019 data).
